Biography

1910Born in Hyogo, Japan
Because of the influence from his grandfather who was a Japanese-style painter, he started to paint since his early childhood.
1928–29Learned Japanese-style painting from Koizumi Katsuji
1930Started oil painting. Tried to create the works with steels.
1936The Landscape with Steel Scraps was exhibited in the 5th Dokuritsu-ten (After that, he submitted the works every time except 7th Dokuritsu-ten.) Studied under Suda Kunitaro
1947Awarded “Dokuritsu-Award”
1949Recommended for the member of Dokuritsu Association.
1953Moved to Tokyo.
1973The collection of his wood cut prints “Fuyajo” “Kawaibana” were published.
The collection of his prints “Shojo-Raisan” was published.
1980The collection of his artworks was published (Limited to 300 copies.)
1987Died in Augsut 8th.

杢田たけを 略歴

1910兵庫県豊岡市に生まれる
日本画家でもあった祖父(僧侶)の影響で幼少より絵を描き、画家を志す。
1928–29小泉勝爾に日本画を学ぶ
1930洋画に転向
鉄による造形を試みる
1936第5回独立展に出品(以後第7回を除いて毎回出品)
須田國太郎に師事
1947独立展で独立賞受賞
1949独立美術協会会員推挙
1953東京都へ転居
1976木版画集(不夜城・可愛花シリーズ)刊行
版画集(少女礼賛)刊行
1980作品集(300部限定)刊行
