Solo Exhibition

We are pleased to announce you that we are currently holing a solo exhibition of Toshio Shibata. He is well known for his photographs of landscapes where artificial building structures (e.g.dams) are built in nature. In this exhibition, the photographers uses many types of photographic techniques such as type C, classical platina prints, gelatine silver print, digital out put, and digital print out. The photographer attempts to make richer images by juxtaposing these photographs.

展覧会概要
自然とダムやコンクリート構築物などの人工物が触れ合うランドスケープで知られる、柴田敏雄の写真展を開催いたします。悠々たる自然に人工物が忽然と姿を現す違和感を捉えたその画面は、独特な静かな美しさを醸し出しています。シカ ゴ現代美術館から永久保存コレクションの制作を依頼されるなど、海外でも高い評価を得ています。
今回は今まで中心となってきたモノクロの写真（ゼラチン・シルバー・プリント）のほかに、カラーのタイプCプリント（銀塩）、デジタルによる出力、同じくプリントアウト、古典的な技法であるプラチナプリント、あるいはオーソドックスなモノクロのゼラチンプリントなど、さまざまな技法で制作したイメージを展示します。それぞれのイメージを並列、制作の過程を連続的なものとして具現化し、作品の本質として捉え、一つのイメージをより複雑なものとして提示していきたいと言う作家の、より豊かなイメージを練り上げようとする試みです。どうぞご高覧頂けますよう、宜しくお願い申し上げます。
